How to practice, in detail

Numbers in the tab are frets; the top line is string 1 (the thinnest).

3 games — pick a game first from the chord or scale practice list (you can also switch on the stage screen). Stars = number of games passed.

  • Find notes on the fretboard: Tap the string and fret of each highlighted tab note on the on-screen fretboard, in order. Your time is your record (hints add +3 s). ★
  • Play notes on guitar: Turn on the camera and mic and play any pentatonic note on your real guitar — it counts (improv). There's no tempo; your time is your record. ★
  • Melody rhythm game: When note blocks scroll in at 70 BPM, play any pentatonic note for each block (improv). On-beat hits score PERFECT·GOOD; 70%+ PERFECT+GOOD passes ★
