FAQ

How do I find the name of a chord shape?

Click the fret you're pressing on each string. The finder matches the combination of notes to chord names; if the bass note isn't the root it shows a slash chord like G/B.

Does it recognize shapes without the 5th?

Yes. Guitar voicings often leave out the 5th, so shapes missing only the 5th are listed as “no 5th” candidates.

What about chords with a capo?

Choose the capo fret and it calculates the notes that actually sound — a C shape with capo 2 shows up as D.
