What is the scale quest?
Scales are memorized by 'position' (where your hand sits). Pentatonics have 5 boxes (2 notes per string); major, minor and modes default to the usual 5 shapes (one finger per fret, 4–5 frets wide), and you can switch to '3 notes per string' (7 positions) for speed playing. Position 1 starts from the root on the 6th string.
3 games — pick a game first from the chord or scale practice list (you can also switch on the stage screen). Stars = number of games passed.
- Find notes on the fretboard: tap the highlighted notes of the tab in order on the on-screen fretboard. Your time is your record (hints add +3 s). ★
- Play notes on guitar: turn on the camera and mic and pluck each highlighted note once on a real guitar — it's checked by sound (in the improv stage, any note of the scale counts). There's no tempo; your time is your record. ★
- Melody rhythm game: as note blocks flow in, play that note on a real guitar right on time. On the beat gets PERFECT·GOOD; 70% or more PERFECT+GOOD passes ★
